The South Central Conference announced its all-conference selection for the basketball season and Knoxville players earned 1st, 2nd, and honorable mentions. For the girls Maggie Wilkins was an unanimous selection. She averaged a team high 23.8 points per game, and reached the 1500 point milestone for her career.
Earning second team was Emma Dunkin. Dunkin was the second leading scorer for the Panthers at just nearly ten points per game along with 43 rebounds and 51 steals, also both second on the team.
Earning Honorable Mention was Tara Uitermarkt and Marley McKay. Uitermarkt had 99 rebounds this season and led the team with nine blocked shots. McKay led the team on the boards with 146. Knoxville finished up with a 15-6 record. On the boys side, two Panthers earned first team with Kieren Nichols and Spencer Hixson.
Nichols will leave the program as one of the all-time greats to wear a Knoxville uniform. He led the team averaging 19.8 points per game, and finished his career as the second all-time leading scorer in Knoxville boys history with 1,499. Hixson was the top free throw shooter on the team at just over 80%, and in two years with the Panthers scored a total 570 points. Earning second team was Luke Keitges. He was the Panthers’ leading rebounder with 179 boards and blocked 26 shots, plus one memorable highlight late in the season.
Earning honorable mention was Mike Hudson, who was 2nd on the team with 104 rebounds, also getting on honorable mention was Keegan Cox and freshman Noah Keefer. The Panther boys finished the season 13-8.
