Melcher-Dallas’ girls’ basketball team will have a lot of youth to build on for the 2021-22 season, led by sophomore Kasyn Reed and freshman Brooklyn Metz.
Kasyn’s older sister Kynser will be graduating this season, which will open up Kasyn’s opportunities to score and rebound in the paint. Kasyn Reed averaged three points and four rebounds in 16 games with six starts in 2020-21. Coach Kelsey Goff tells KNIA Sports that she was very impressed with Kasyn’s versatility throughout the season.
“Kasyn Reed has been one that I can go to this season. Earlier in the season, she was playing in a guard position because I was short on guards. I know in JV games for Coach Willoughby she played both positions. I mainly used her towards the end of the season as a post.”
Brooklyn Metz appeared in 12 games and started five while averaging two points and over three rebounds per game for the Saints.
