Melcher-Dallas’ boys’ basketball team has hovered around .500 over the last four years, and they will be looking to break the trend in 2021-22.
The Saints will be returning one starter from 2020-21, who is top rebounder Owen Suntken at seven boards a game. Melcher-Dallas will also be looking for a new coach, as Jim Wells announced his retirement after 23 years with the program. With the Saints’ top three scorers graduating, they will be looking for new players to step up and be productive next season.
Melcher-Dallas finished with a 9-10 record and a first-round playoff loss at North Mahaska.
