Melcher-Dallas’ girls’ basketball team has a lot to be proud of after going through one of their more tumultuous seasons in recent history.
The Saints had a stoppage in December due to a member of the team testing positive for COVID-19, coupled with four starters sitting out due to COVID-19 contact tracing. In between the two COVID-19 outbreaks, the Saints won eight out of nine games, including three over conference powerhouse Murray. Also, Melcher-Dallas finished second in the Bluegrass Conference Tournament, losing in the championship game to Moravia.
The Saints finished 8-11 with a first-round playoff loss at Martensdale-St. Mary’s.
