Governor Kim Reynolds announced 13 awardees of the Future Ready Iowa Employer Innovation Fund, a matching grant designed to help employers carry out solutions to help their employees achieve postsecondary training and education.

The Well in Pella was named as one of the recipients, and is getting a $50,000 grant for The Well Works Program. In partnership with local manufacturing businesses, 25 participants are provided with paid work experience, skill development, education, and one on one mentorship to overcome barriers in their lives that are preventing them from employment or advancement.

The purpose of the grant is to provide opportunities for Iowans to earn non-credit and for-credit postsecondary credentials leading to high-demand jobs.

Executive Director of The Well Jayson Henry says programs such as Well Works continue to have success for all parties involved, but he says they are in need of volunteers to support their full time staff in their three locations.
