Today is St. Patrick’s Day. As residents celebrate, Knoxville Police Chief Aaron Fuller reminds everyone to do so responsibly.

“I hope that everybody just uses common sense. If you go out with friends and family for a drink or two, we hope that you social distance while you’re at the bar or out to eat. We hope that you wear a mask, wash your hands, all the stuff we’ve been doing all year long. But also, this is nothing new, don’t drink and drive. Have a designated driver, call a cab, we’ve got two cab companies here in town. There’s no reason for anyone to be driving. If you’re at a friend’s house and you have a little too much to drink, just stay there.”

Fuller says that the best case scenario if you’re caught is you lose your license, and worst case, someone gets killed.
