The Iowa Print Sports Writers Association has named its all-state teams. In Class 3A, Grant Nelson from state champion Pella earned a 1st team spot.

Nelson was the class 3A State Tournament Team Captain scoring 15 points in Friday’s win over Ballard. He averaged a team high 17.4 points per game and led the team with 113 assists. On the 2nd team was Karl Miller also from Pella.

Miller scored 14 points against Ballard on Friday and was a member of the All-Tournament Team. Miller scored 15.7 points per game, and led Pella with 157 rebounds. Also earning a second team nod was Knoxville’s Kieren Nichols.

The Panther senior scored 19.8 points per game, dealt out 95 assists this season, had a team high 35 steals, and ended his career as the 2nd leading scorer at Knoxville with 1,499 points.
