Local employers and students are coming together online to post and find summer job opportunities. WorkSMART Connector Director of Work-Based Learning Teri Vos says the collaboration is a unique, regionally-focused effort to provide opportunities for local high school and college students, while supporting local employment needs. Both groups are encouraged to use the site to connect on jobs that last all summer, or short-term projects that students are well-equipped to complete.

“Area employers are finding it difficult to reach young talent, while students don’t know where to find a variety of summer job options,” said Teri Vos, WorkSMART Connector director of work-based learning. “This provides a 1-stop shop for both groups to connect locally.”

At the request of local employers and school leaders, WorkSMART Connector and the Pella Area Community and Economic Alliance developed an online space for seasonal job and project postings, accessible on the home pages of both http://worksmartconnector.org/ and https://pella.org/ . All local employers and students are encouraged to go to the link for “seasonal” or “summer” opportunities to either post or apply for employment opportunities. A submission form is available at the link for employers to conveniently post a project or job; contact information is listed for students to apply.
