A Knoxville woman faces felony charges after being pulled over in January. Shortly after 1:00 a.m. on January 16th, a Marion County deputy performed a traffic stop near the intersection of Marion Street and Roche Street in Knoxville for a brake light violation. Upon speaking with the driver, 41-year-old Lora Burnett, a glass pipe used to smoke methamphetamine was observed behind the passenger seat. The deputy searched the rest of the vehicle, and found a white crystalline substance in a plastic baggie.
Burnett was found guilty of the charge of possession of controlled substance third or subsequent offense, a Class D felony. Burnett has been ordered to pay $855, and faces up to two years of incarceration. Sentencing will occur at a later date.
