The Pella City Council adopted the Fiscal Year 2021-22 budget at a special meeting Thursday.
City Administrator Mike Nardini says the FY 21-22 budget includes projected revenues of $42,460,648 and expenses of $41,024,180, and an 8% increase in wastewater rates.
The proposal includes the following projects:
Oost Port Alley infrastructure ($1.041 millon)
City streets: Neil Drive/218th Pavement, East 3rd Street reconstruction, University Street asphalt overlay
Completion of Pella Fiber
New Pella Fire Truck

At the special meeting, council also approved change orders to the fiber construction contract with Excel Utility Contractors for expansion of Pella Fiber to new developments. Following regular business, the council reviewed a request from Wonder Spelen amending the 28E Agreement to add additional amenities to the project — formal consideration will take place at a future meeting.
