The Knoxville School Board made changes to its facilities usage plan and event spectator requirements at its meeting Monday. Superintendent Cassi Pearson says for outdoor events, masks are no longer required.

“Groups can use out outdoor facilities, even to host larger events. There won’t be any restrictions on the number of people allowed to attend those. However, if it’s an indoor event, they’ll still have to use the same mitigation measures we’ve been using in the school, which requires masks indoors. Outdoor activities now make masks optional. As people come to attend our spring events, they’ll have the option of wearing a mask or not.”

This policy will be evaluated at each school board meeting.
