Pleasantville Girls Finish 1st, Boys Place 2nd at Home Co-ed Golf Meet
In Pleasantville’s first co-ed meet of the season, both teams finished in the top two as the Trojans’ girls finished first while the boys finished second.
Pleasantville’s girls finished with 227 points, the lowest out of the four teams in the quadrangular. The Trojans’ top scorer was Cheyene Pagel with a score of 54, one point lower than Breanna Benge’s 55. Pagel, Benge, Kristen Roe, and Lauren Cook finished in the top four individually. Coach Jeff Koerselman tells KNIA Sports that he is hoping his team can continue improving throughout the season.
“Take a goal one step at a time. If we get to that goal then we will have a special year, so it hasn’t been one thing here or there it has just been one goal as a team and seeing if we can get there before these girls graduate.”
The Trojans’ boys finished second out of four teams in the quadrangular, finishing just behind ACGC. Pleasantville’s low scorer of the night was Carter Ollom, finishing with a 40, which was third individually in the meet. Second on the team in individual scoring was Jake Hiemstra with a 46.
Pleasantville’s boys next meet is Friday when they take a trip to Knoxville, while the girls’ next meet will be a co-ed meet at Woodward-Granger next Monday.
