Construction crews have been working in full force throughout the Pella community installing the fiber for future high-speed internet use for residents and businesses.

Keetah Dodson is the Customer Service Manager of Pella Fiber, and says the utility has test customers in operation, while Excel Utility Contractors have been placing fiber and connecting homes with drops.

Dodson says more than 3,000 households and businesses have signed up for service drops at the Pella Fiber website to be connected and have the opportunity to become full-service users of gigabit internet, voice, and television as a utility through the City of Pella. The goal is to have the first customers with full internet connections later this spring, with crews aiming to connect several thousand pre-registrants by the end of the fall.
