As spring planting season ramps up in fields across the region and state, local law enforcement and farm industry experts remind all drivers to be ready for large equipment on the roadways.

According to Iowa State University Extension, corn planting is best done if soil conditions are good to great in mid-to-late April, with a long-range forecast that remains favorable for at least five-to-seven days.
