Tickets for the Indianola High School Musical Theatre Department’s production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee are on sale. Noah Bell, Alissa Johnson, and Elijah Ellwanger are cast members of the musical, and tell KNIA News why they wanted to get involved and why the community should show up to watch.

Noah Bell:
“It’s always a fun activity no matter what show you are seeing. I think it’s very fun to come out and enjoy it with your friends. Especially this year with all of the audience volunteers. You might get to see people you might know go up on stage and struggle with some hard words they have been given. So you might be able to make fun of them afterwards.”

Alissa Johnson:
“Just to support all of us students and everything we’ve had to go through with covid and everything. We are all of us, not just the students but the community, are just so thankful for the fact that we’ve had a musical so we can enjoy the fact that we are having a musical this year. So just come out and enjoy that we are here a year later, wearing masks and social distancing, but we are able to enjoy what brings our community together.”

Elijah Ellwanger:
“No matter what musical or what year it is, we encourage people to come and watch, because musical’s are fun to watch. It’s such a different musical than what we’ve done in the past. It’s really going to be a challenge for all of us and I think people will really enjoy seeing that.

To hear more from the cast of the musical, tune in to today’s Let’s Talk Indianola. The showtimes will be on April 29th and 30th at 7pm, and May 1st at 2pm and again at 7pm.
