The Knoxville Police Department wants to remind residents of ordinances as the weather continues to warm up. Those looking to get rid of unwanted items are permitted to host garage or yard sales as long as they comply with regulations. Community Service Officer Meredith Clark says there’s a limit to the number of sales a person can have.

“Garage, yard sales, or flea markets and other sales are limited to no more than five consecutive days and no more than twice per calendar year, except during the Knoxville Nationals. Sales are permitted for those 10 days. All sales must be operated so as not to create a nuisance from scattered items blown by the wind.”
