The Tulip City High School tennis teams are off to strong starts in the 2021 season, and are getting recognition for their efforts.

The Iowa High School Boys Tennis Coaches Poll now has Pella ranked 2nd in Class 1A. The Dutch are undefeated through three duals and two invitationals, and have largely dominated all competitions they’ve participated in so far, including two wins over No. 4 Boone. Seniors Jack Edwards and Vaughn Thompson were named Class 1A Co-Players of the week by the Iowa High School Tennis blog as well for their efforts in the top spots of the Pella lineup. The pair have their eyes focused on continued improvement, with goals of competing for both individual and team state championships.

Pella Christian’s girls rank 5th and Pella’s girls are 7th in the latest Iowa Girls Tennis Coaches Poll. The Eagles girls are 4-0 to start the spring, while the Lady Dutch are 3-0 to open.
