Six of the seven Norwalk spring sports teams were in action Tuesday, as well as the boys golf team, which typically plays in the fall. They were in Oskaloosa, and placed first in an invitational.
The girls golf team was in action, hosting a triangular against Indianola and Oskaloosa. The Warriors won the meet with 175 points. Lauren Davis shot a 41 to earn medalist honors. They’ll return to action Monday at Winterset.
The girls tennis team was at Pella in conference action, falling 10-1. The lone win was from Kelsey Dammeier in #1 singles. Norwalk will host Pella Christian Thursday.
The boys tennis team hosted Pella, and dropped an 11-0 decision. Despite the loss, Head Coach Russell Place says it was a learning experience for his team.
They’ll be back in action Tuesday at Oskaloosa.
The boys track & field team placed third at Carlisle with 97 points. Top finishers included:
Ethan Carlson – 1st in 800M Run
Chase McKinney – 2nd in 110M Hurdles
Derek Webster – 1st in 1600M Run
Carter Bunch – 1st in Shot Put
2nd in 4x800M Relay
2nd in 800 Sprint Medley Relay
2nd in 1600 Distance Medley Relay
They’ll return to action Thursday at Bondurant-Farrar.
The girls soccer team hosted Newton in a Little Hawkeye Conference match, picking up a 2-1 win. Goals were scored by Marin Randall and Reagan Holtorf. The Warriors will be back in action Monday at Winterset.
The boys soccer team was at Newton, and it took overtime for the Warriors to pick up a 1-0 victory. They’ll return to action Thursday at Des Moines Lincoln.
