The downtown Indianola square and surrounding area will convert from one-way to two-way traffic on May 17th as part of the Downtown Streetscape Project. The current three-way stops on the square will convert to four-way, as well as the addition of bike lanes from Buxton Street to Highway 92.
On-street parking on Buxton and Howard Streets north of the square will not change aside from the direction the cars will be parked. Parking will still be allowed on the west side of Howard Street, with no parking on the east side. Parking will also be allowed on the east side of Buxton Street, with no parking on the west side. The Indianola Post Office will also be constructing a new on-street drive-thru lane this summer to drop off mail on the west side of Buxton Street.
