It was another productive night on the track for the Twin Cedars girls as the Sabers finished in 3rd place at the Cardinal Invitational on Friday. Rylee Dunkin ran her season best 5:15 in the 1600 finishing in 2nd place. She also won the 800 meter run and placed 2nd in the 100. Cheyenne Bruns set two personal records taking gold in the 400 hurdles in a time of 1:15 and running a PR of 1:04 in the open 400 placing 2nd. The shuttle hurdle relay was 2nd while the distance medley placed 3rd. Coach Cam Parker has been pleased with the progress his girls are making.
Parker:
“We’ve really been seeing some improvement of our times, we’ve also been placing girls in events we think could make it to the Blue Oval, so we’ve been really pleased with their times.”
The Sabers will head to Lamoni for the Bluegrass Conference meet on Tuesday.
