The Iowa Legislature is still in deliberations regarding the budget, despite the session being scheduled to be completed by April 30th. State Representative Brooke Boden tells KNIA News from her perspective, the issues lay with finding the fine line between being fiscally responsible for the future and still providing Iowans the services they need. Boden said she takes pride in the way the state has survived the past year’s economic downturn in good shape.

“My priority is to be very mindful about the people’s money. That we aren’t keeping to much of their money, but at the same time we are being fiscally responsible in the end so if we are ever faced with what we were faced with over the past year, that we will be able to walk out of it healthy and good with our finances like we are right now. I’m proud that Iowa has been very mindful of their budget.”
