Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine at Pella Regional was recognized for Clinical Excellence in Patient Satisfaction and Wound Healing Rates by receiving the Center of Distinction award from Healogics. The Pella Regional Wound Center achieved outstanding clinical outcomes for twelve consecutive months, including patient satisfaction rates higher than 92 percent and a minimum wound healing rate of at least 92 percent within 28 median days to heal. There were 555 Centers eligible for the Center of Distinction award and Pella Regional was one of only 278 to achieve the honor.

“The last year has not been easy for anyone working in health care, said Lesa Maring, Director of Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine at Pella Regional. “Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine was open and seeing patients on our normal schedule throughout 2020, and our team provided wonderful care for our patients. For our team to receive this award in 2020 is very impressive.”

Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine at Pella Regional is a member of the Healogics network of Wound Care Centers and offers highly specialized wound care to patients. The department also offers hyperbaric oxygen therapy, which works by surrounding the patient with 100 percent oxygen to help progress the healing of the wound.
