Near normal early May weather will greet thousands of visitors coming to Pella for the Tulip Time festival. According to the National Weather Service, daytime highs in the low-to-mid 60s are in the forecast, which is slightly below the typical average for May 6-8th. Partly-to-mostly sunny skies are expected until Saturday, when slight chances for light rain start in the afternoon, and better chances for precipitation coming after festivities wrap up late Saturday night.

Several tulips remain in bloom, according to the Pella Community Services Department and Pella Historical Society and Museums.
