PCM Girls Third, Boys Fourth in Heart of Iowa Conference Tournament
PCM’s track squads finished in the top half in the Heart of Iowa Conference Tournament at home Thursday as the girls finished third while the boys finished fourth.
The Mustangs’ girls finished with four first-place finishes in the meet, including two from Drake Relays qualifier Margo Chipps. Chipps finished first in both the 100 meter and 400 meter hurdles. Paige Steenhoek topped the 3000 meter run. The Mustangs also finished first in the 4×100 shuttle hurdle relay. PCM’s girls finished with a total of 99 points, finishing behind Nevada and Roland-Story.
PCM’s boys finished with 97 points, finishing behind South Hamilton, Greene County, and Roland-Story. The Mustangs finished with seven second-place finishes including four individual and three team events. Here is a list of second-place finishes from the Mustangs’ boys:

The next meet for the Mustangs will be a coed meet Monday against Pella. The meet will begin at 4:30 PM.
PCM Girls Golf Adds Meet at Newton, Finishes Fourth
PCM’s girls’ golf team finished fourth out of five teams in their tournament at Newton with a score of 239.
The Mustangs finished with a team score of 239, but had one highlight, which was a personal record that was set. Riley Johannes finished eighth overall in the meet with a score of 52. Eleigh Davis shot a 53, good enough for tenth overall. Tori Peterson scored a 60 while Deanna McHargue scored a 74.
PCM’s next meet will be next Friday when they travel to Colfax-Mingo.
