Jim Uitermarkt has announced his resignation as Knoxville High School Girls Basketball Head Coach. Uitermarkt led the Panthers to a 194-120 record in his 14 seasons as coach, winning five conference titles, and led the Panthers to the 2010 State Tournament. He and his wife Angie were organizers of Knoxville Panthers Coaches vs. Cancer, which has been the best in the nation for the last decade.
Uitermarkt cites the desire to watch his son play in the boys program as a key factor in the decision. He tells KNIA/KRLS News he’s ready to give up the extra duties required of a head coach, and that it’s time for someone else to take the reins.
