The Knoxville School Board decided to remove all mask requirements effective June 1st. Superintendent Cassi Pearson says this applies to all indoor and outdoor events, and hopes this will make the transition into next school year a smooth one.

“As of June 1st, we are going to be making masks optional both indoors and outdoors at school facilities. Once kids are finished with the school year on May 28th, our staff will have the option of wearing masks, and same with our kids for the summer programming. We think this will be a great opportunity for us to see how things go on a smaller scale. Hopefully we can find some good routines to get into before school starts next fall.”
