The Knoxville Police Department concluded National Police Week Saturday with a ceremony outside the department’s office. Members of the department shared stories of the past year, which included Sergeant Skyler Verros presenting a demonstration with the department’s new K9, Rosko. Chief Aaron Fuller announced a new mission statement for the department. He says it will take a lot of work to live up to this new mission, but looks forward to striving to meet the core values.
The ceremony also included names of officers fallen in the line of duty this year, as well as recognition of each employee of the Knoxville Police Department.
