This week is National EMS Week, a week to recognize the efforts of emergency medical workers. Bri Smith with Knoxville Fire/EMS says that it’s a rewarding profession that involves helping people in a variety of ways.
“It’s not always about saving lives. You do save a life once in a while, which is rewarding. Sometimes it’s just as rewarding to help Grandma off the floor and feed her cat while you’re there too, just little things like that. You connect with people in ways that most people don’t get to. It’s really rewarding all around.”
Smith arrived in Knoxville after attending Central College and Kirkwood Community College. Hear more about Knoxville Fire/EMS on Friday’s Let’s Talk Knoxville.
