The Indianola School Board approved a bid to complete the Indianola High School Auditorium Project at their most recent meeting, with the winning bid coming in well under the projected amount. Superintendent Art Sathoff tells KNIA News despite inflated prices on many other construction bids for other organizations across the state, the Auditorium Project received five bids, and the accepted bid was for $395K after a projected $531K.

“We felt very good about having that bid accepted and being at the level it was. Now we have to hope that the materials come in. That project is supposed to be substantially complete by August 20th, and then just a punch list of things to complete by mid-September. So if we don’t have a holdup of seating and materials, that should go very well.”

The project includes new seating, painting, technological upgrades, and a new pit cover.
