Knoxville’s Randy Wilson Track field replacement project will begin Tuesday. School Business Manager Craig Mobley says this project will allow the field to be used quite a bit more with fewer practice fields available.

“Adding turf on the field at Randy Wilson Track is going to benefit us from a practice standpoint. It’ll allow a lot more use than a grass field would for marching band, PE classes, track & field days, soccer practice, football practice, anything you can think of. It’s about having the ability, since we’re not going to have the same number of practice fields, to have a field that can take use and abuse and still be just fine. That’s the strategy behind this.”

Completion is expected by mid August.
