After a break for the Memorial Day weekend, the second week of baseball and softball action resumes for the Tulip City summer teams.

Pella’s baseball team, 2-2 and coming off of a walk-off win over Knoxville, faces a daunting task on the road No. 1 in 3A Gilbert, the defending state runners-up. Head Coach Jesse Jablonski believes the matchup will be a measuring stick to determine how ready his team is to compete for a spot at the state tournament in July, and how much work they’ll need to do over the next five weeks to put themselves in position to do so.

Meanwhile, the Eagles softball and baseball teams make a trip for a non-conference action against Albia, ahead of Wednesday’s conference opening doubleheader at home against Indianola.
