A starting pitcher for the Central College baseball team, Marcus Wenzel, was cited as an honorable mention selection to the 2021 American Rivers All-Conference baseball team Wednesday.

Wenzel started eight conference games and tossed 43.0 innings. He compiled an ERA of 4.81 and limited opponents to a .254 batting average. He had an 0-5 record, despite taking shutouts into the seventh inning of his final two conference starts. Striking out 38 batters, he walked just 17 and allowed 44 hits.

Central finished its season 14-27 overall and 10-22 in league play.
