A special Tuesday for Pella High School athletics featured two spring sports teams competing in state tournaments. The Pella boys tennis team finished 2nd in Class 1A for the second consecutive season, competing in the final four at the Waveland Tennis Courts, defeating Wahlert 5-1 and falling to Xavier in the finals 5-2.

Just 15 minutes away, the Dutch soccer team was in the 2A State Quarterfinals against ADM, but fell in the contest 2-1, as heard live on 92.1 KRLS. Isaac Semini scored the lone goal of the Dutch, coming off of the keeper early in the 2nd half.

Today, Pella Girls Tennis freshman Emily Blom and Eagles players Katy Roose, Megan Kramer, and Kelly Van Wyk are competing in the 1A State Individual and Doubles Tournament in Waterloo.
