The book closed on the spring sports season in the Tulip City Wednesday.

At the state individual tennis tournament, Emily Blom of Pella won her first match against Maci Sloane of Camanche (6-1, 6-3), but dropped two close ones to Le Yan Sun of Shenandoah (6-3-, 6-1) and to Brenna Phillips of Columbus Catholic 2-1 (6-4, 1-6, 0-1) to end her run as a freshman. Katy Roose of Pella Christian dropped her two matches 2-0 to Kinsie Zinnel of Boone and to Phillips of Columbus.

In the doubles tournament, seniors Megan Kramer and Kelly Van Wyk fell to Yan Gaskell/Penelope Hidgon of Fairfield and Mara Holland/Annalise Skrade of Decorah, both in 2-0 matches.

The No. 12 Lady Dutch soccer team fell 4-0 to No. 7 Dallas Center-Grimes in the 2A Regional Semifinals on the road. Pella says farewell to 11 seniors.
