PCM baseball and softball made the long trek to Greene County Wednesday night and both teams left with victories. The Mustangs baseball team won 5-0 while softball defeated the Rams 8-1.

Beau Webb was the story on the baseball diamond, pitching a gem for the Mustangs. The freshman pitched all seven innings allowing only four hits and striking out six Rams. Webb threw just 70 pitches, throwing just seven balls all night, and out of 26 batters Webb faced, he threw first pitch strikes to 24 of them. Andrew Mitchell had three base hits and Caleb Duinink provided two hits and a pair of RBIs. Coach Jeff Lindsay is happy that the team is working hard to become a solid group of players.

PCM had a solid performance on the softball diamond Wednesday, starting with Pitcher Paige Steenhoek. She pitched all seven innings and allowed just three hits. Joslin Briles went 2-4 with a three-run homer and Riley Johannes was 2-4 with a pair of doubles and three runs scored.

PCM softball is back on the road tonight as they play Grand View Christian at 7 p.m. The Mustang Baseball team will have the night off before hosting South Tama Friday night.
