As many businesses and organizations reported to Pella Historical Society after the three-day celebration, Tulip Time continues to be more of a season outside of the festival.

Executive Director of Pella Historical Society Valerie Van Kooten says the tulip bloom this year may have attracted the highest number of visitors before Tulip Time, according to the traffic at the Historical Village and what local retail and restaurant owners reported back to her.

Van Kooten says the approximately 300,000 bulbs planted between Pella Historical Society, the City of Pella, and other businesses and organizations are having an increasing economic impact on the area, and has allowed the festival to stretch up to four weeks.
