The Norwalk baseball team was back in action Thursday, hosting Des Moines East in non-conference play. The Warriors had no problems in a 10-0 win that was completed in five innings. After two runs scored in the first, Norwalk poured on three more in the second for a commanding lead. The Warriors doubled their lead with five runs in the fourth, and ended the game in the top of the fifth courtesy of the run rule.

Cael Eck was the winning pitcher, giving up two hits and two walks while recording eight strikeouts. Tyler Wegner had a 2 for 3 night with an RBI to lead the way offensively. Norwalk improves to 11-1, and returns to Little Hawkeye Conference play with a doubleheader tonight at Dallas Center-Grimes. Head Coach Chad Wiedmann says he’ll use his top pitchers in what he expects to be a tough conference battle.

First pitch of game 1 is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at the DCG baseball field.

The Warrior softball team is also in action at DCG for a doubleheader, as the team goes for its fifth and sixth wins in a row after wins over Newton and Grinnell earlier in the week. First pitch from Dallas Center is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
