The Twin Cedars baseball and softball teams both played host to Moulton-Udell Thursday and each defeated the Eagles 14-0.
Kade Dunkin returned to the baseball diamond Thursday after missing the Sabers’ matchup with Ankeny Christian earlier in the week. Dunkin would collect the win on the mound as Twin Cedars racked up 14 runs in the blowout victory. Head Coach Mark Schroeder said he is excited about some of the opportunities his younger pitchers will have in the coming games for his squad.
Twin Cedars softball followed up the baseball game with a 14-0 rout of their own. Grace Bailey and Ali Mockenhaupt combined to allow just two hits in the contest. The Sabers had 13 hits in the game led by Bailey who was 3-3 with an inside-the-park HR and five RBIs. Rylee Dunkin also went 3-3 with a pair of runs batted in and Kisha Reed added three RBIs.
Twin Cedars summer sports next head to Lamoni tonight. The 5-4 Sabers baseball team starts things off at 5:30, followed by the 14-5 Twin Cedars softball team at 7:30 p.m.
