The Pleasantville Christian Church will host local artist Jason Brown for a fundraising concert Sunday. The church is fundraising for its church construction project, which is expected to be completed in November. Church Board Chair Lois Turnage tells KNIA/KRLS News that proceeds will go toward church furnishings.

“The items we need inside are numerous. We still have work to do in that area. This will hopefully be a step in the right direction for us. It’ll get us that much closer to getting back in a church. We’re looking at the end of November to take occupancy, right before the Christmas season. It’ll be beautiful.”

A $10 pork loin meal begins at 5:30 p.m. outside Memorial Hall, and the concert begins at 7:00. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
