PCM summer sports were at South Hamilton Friday night and both teams came away victorious. The Mustangs baseball team won their contest 8-3, and the softball squad defeated the Hawks 8-6.
Beau Webb got the nod on the bump for the PCM baseball team and collected the win. Webb pitched a complete game striking out 8 and surrendering just one walk. The bats backed up Webb as the Mustangs amassed 14 hits and every hitter added at least one hit to the total. Gavin Fenton had 3 RBIs and Andrew Mitchell added a pair of RBIs on his two base hits. Webb helped his own cause at the dish collecting a pair of base knocks as well.
For the second time this week, PCM softball came out after a loss and responded well. The Mustangs came out and defeated South Hamilton 8-6 Friday night. The win kept PCM in a three-way tie with Saydel and Roland-Story at the top of the Heart of Iowa Conference standings.
The Mustang baseball team improved to 4-5 on the year with the win. They have the weekend off before Nevada comes to town Monday. The softball team is now 7-7 and will play in the E-B-F tournament today. The first game is against Mid-Prairie at 11:45 a.m.
