At approximately 11:45 p.m. Sunday, Knoxville Fire and Rescue and the Knoxville Police Department responded to a report of a stabbing at 409 E. Montgomery in Knoxville. Knoxville Police Chief Aaron Fuller tells KNIA KRLS News that when first responders arrived on scene they found a victim with a knife wound. The victim, identified as Christian Blaine Durham, was transported to Knoxville Hospital and Clinics, then flown to a Des Moines hospital. Durham is in critical condition. Fuller says an investigation immediately followed.
“Through our investigation, we identified and located a suspect, questioned him, and ultimately ended up arresting him, charging him with willful injury, causing serious injury, which is a Class C felony, and obstruction of prosecution, which is an aggravated misdemeanor.”
Police have arrested 21-year-old Levi Null of Knoxville in connection to the incident. Null allegedly stabbed the victim six times, causing injury requiring hospitalization. The obstruction of prosecution charge stems from Null deleting information from his cell phone that law enforcement officers attempted to seize in an attempt to collect information. Fuller thanks the assisting agencies for their response to this crime.
“We were assisted in this investigation by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and the Division of Criminal Investigations. We appreciate the help and teamwork. We worked extremely well and efficiently together in order to solve this case in a timely manner in an attempt to keep the community of Knoxville safe.”
Null was arrested and taken to the Marion County Jail. Stay tuned to KNIA/KRLS for updates on this story.
