The Twin Cedars’ summer teams were in Murray Tuesday night for a Bluegrass Conference matchup. The Sabers baseball team got back in the win column defeating the Mustangs 12-6 and the softball team blew out Murray 20-4 in six innings.
Freshman Blake Micetich got his first career start for Twin Cedars on the baseball diamond and notched his first career win. The Sabers offense refocused to score 12 runs as Twin Cedars picked up a big win in conference play. The Sabers now have a 6-4 Bluegrass Conference record and are 6-6 overall.
Rylee Dunkin had a huge night in the softball game as she went 5-6 with two doubles and her first home run of the season, adding five RBIs to her impressive performance. Ali Mockenhaupt drove in three runs on two hits and Grace Bailey picked up win #14 on the year.
The softball squad has the night off before the Marion County Showdown with Melcher-Dallas Thursday. Twin Cedars Head Softball Coach Zack Dunkin said the offensive approach will be the key to avenging the early season loss. Twin Cedars baseball takes on Collins-Maxwell tonight at 6 p.m.
