Melcher-Dallas’ softball and baseball squads suffered shutout losses as the softball team opened the Orient-Macksburg Tournament losing to Lenox, 1-0, while the baseball squad was shut out by Southeast Warren, 6-0.

The Saints’ softball squad was no-hit for the first time this season and committed three errors in the game. BrieAnna Remster pitched seven innings and gave up just one run in two hits and walked just one batter. Lenox scored their lone run in the fifth inning. The loss drops Melcher-Dallas to 16-5 on the season.

The Saints’ baseball squad were only able to put one hit on the board, which was a single by Ryan Krpan. Melcher-Dallas committed four errors and gave up ten walks on the mound. Johnny Milburn pitched three innings of shutout baseball and gave up just one hit. The loss puts Melcher-Dallas at 7-8 on the season.

Both squads will be back in action for a matchup on the road with Bluegrass Conference Rival Twin Cedars. Both games will begin at Twin Cedars at 5:30 PM.
