Pleasantville’s baseball squad broke their losing streak with a doubleheader sweep of ACGC, while the softball squad also came away with a doubleheader sweep.+

The Trojans’ baseball squad’s bats woke up in a resounding way in both games with victories of 12-2 in game one and 15-5 in game two. Game one saw five different Trojans have multiple hits, including Aaron Wilkins, Jonah Schumacher, Austin McMillin, Caylor Clark, and Trevor Daggett. Game two saw Wilkins and Schumacher get two RBIs while Jake Dejoode and Trevor Pulse each had two hits. The victories put Pleasantville at 9-13 on the season.

The Trojans’ softball squad knocked off the Chargers in game one 7-3 thanks to a five-run fourth inning. The turning point in the game was a three-run home run from Josie Sowers. Amber McKinney went four for four with two doubles. Game two was an 11-1 blowout for Pleasantville thanks to two-hit nights from Sowers and Hannah Gibson. Leah Adreon also went three for three. The wins put Pleasantville at 11-15 on the year.

Both teams will be off today to prepare for their next games. The Trojans’ softball squad will travel to the North Mahaska Tournament while the baseball squad will have the weekend off to get ready for Earlham.
