indianola-3

After an unsuccessful road trip to face off with the Mustangs of Dallas Center-Grimes for both the Indianola baseball and softball teams earlier this month, the two squads will have a chance at the season series Monday evening, each hosting a Little Hawkeye Conference doubleheader. The Indians baseball team sits in third place in the conference standings a half game back of Grinnel and first place Norwalk, and will have to win to maintain their spot after dropping a 7-4 contest in the first matchup.

The Indianola softball team has won 14 games in a row, and will look to avenge their only conference loss of the season that DCG won in walkoff fashion after the Indians had a 6-5 lead in the 7th. Head coach Stacy Evans tells KNIA Sports her squad has made strides all season long, and are learning how to best close out games after suffering some early season losses in heartbreak fashion.

Game two of the softball doubleheader can be heard live on 94.3 KNIA, with Andrew Swadner on the play-by-play. Pregame coverage begins approximately at 7pm.
