Knoxville Softball split its two games at Oskaloosa on Saturday defeating Sigourney 5-1 and falling to Creston 4-3. The loss to Creston stopped a five game winning streak for Knoxville. In the Sigourney win, the Panthers followed a similar path like many of their wins this season by giving up an early run only to score two in the 5th and three in the 6th. Knoxville was able to score early on Creston but it would not hold up as the other Panthers went for three in the 2nd and one more in the 4th. Coach Carla Smith tells KNIA/KRLS Sports with the team now starting to play well and girls solidifying their spots…it is easier for the coaches to put a line up together
Smith:
“I think part of that is that as a coaching staff we just needed to decide who needs to play where, and now it’s easier for our girls to play because they know where they need to be.”
Knoxville is now 15-7 on the season and will have a crucial game Tuesday against Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont on Panther Drive.
