The Indianola Mayor’s Youth Council held Bike Fest 2021: Pedal Palooza! Saturday at Irving Elementary School, hosting well over 150 kids and parents. Connor Troutman with the Mayor’s Youth Council tell KNIA News there were plenty of opportunities for kids to learn about the various safety aspects they should know about when riding their bikes such as riding safely on trails, crossing a street and looking out for cars, maneuvering around obstacles, and how to best handle their bike.

Other than safety, kids could have their bikes tuned, be given a helmet by the Indianola Police Department, win prizes by playing games, or visit the various booths and stands from local organizations that attended.
