Webb Shadle Library in Pleasantville held a rededication ceremony Wednesday to celebrate its future as a public library. The library was privately operated through a trust fund from the late Cora Shadle since its inception, but has been turned over to the city. Trustee Ron Danks says he’s grateful that this initiative came to fruition after years of uncertainty.

The change officially takes effect July 1st, when the library will be known as Webb Shadle Public Library.
