A Pella High School Class of 2021 graduate is off to participate in one of the country’s elite Military Academies. Tony Schmitz was sent off to West Point to begin his training and education. Schmitz initially enlisted through the Iowa Army National Guard through Sgt. Matt Trout, but the recruitment officer said Tony had even higher goals.
