pleasantville-3

Pleasantville’s softball squad had their tournament in Ankeny canceled, so they will take the weekend, along with the baseball squad to prepare for a conference doubleheader with Des Moines Christian Monday.

The Trojans’ softball squad currently is riding a five-game conference winning streak, including knocking off No. 7 in Class 2A Earlham last Monday. Pleasantville knocked off the Lions in the first meeting June 7 with a 14-7 win thanks to home runs from Faith Vanderhart and Amber McKinney.

The Trojans’ baseball squad have won three of their last five games, including splitting a doubleheader with Madrid Thursday. Pleasantville knocked off the Lions, who were No. 2 in Class 2A at the time, 6-5 in eight innings. The Trojans were led by Aaron Wilkins, who went three for four on the day.

The baseball squad will begin their game Monday at 5:00 PM, while the softball squad will play their game at 5:30 PM.
